Skin Resurfacing and
Microdermabrasion
Skin resurfacing dates back to ancient
Egyptian times using abrasive masks of alabaster particles used
to remove the outer most layer of the skin (the Epidermis)
leading to rapid skin improvements.
Microdermabrasion is a method of skin
resurfacing, developed in Italy in 1985 and, used throughout
Europe prior to its popularity in the U.S. Compared with other
modalities of skin resurfacing like chemical peels, dermabrasion,
and laser resurfacing (co2), microdermabrasion offers skin
resurfacing with no downtime, no pain, and can be used on
any skin color.
What is microdermabrasion good for?
Improving skin quality and texture, reducing age spots,
reducing early sun damage, softening fine wrinkles, treating
acne or other scars
How does microdermabrasion work?
Microdermabrasion uses fine crystals in a high pressure
hand-piece to "sandblast" the superficial layer of skin. It is
completely painless and safe for all skin
types.
At Clear Medical we exclusively use
medical grade microdermabrasion machines which safely and
effectively remove the outermost layer of skin leaving a clean,
fresh and vibrant glow.
